Prince Edward Island Issues 26 Invitations in First PNP Draw of 2026

Prince Edward Island has opened its 2026 immigration intake with a new draw under the Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP), issuing 26 invitations to apply to candidates in the Labour and Express Entry streams.

The draw, held on January 15, 2026, prioritized individuals working in sectors with high economic impact, as well as international graduates from the province’s post-secondary institutions.

Labour and Express Entry Candidates Targeted

All 26 invitations issued in this round went to candidates under the Labour and Express Entry categories. No invitations were issued to Business Work Permit Entrepreneur candidates during this draw, keeping the minimum point threshold for that stream inapplicable for this round.

According to the PEI Office of Immigration, the invitations focused on individuals working in occupations and priority sectors deemed to have a significant economic impact on the province.

Furthermore, the draw explicitly prioritized international graduates from Prince Edward Island’s key educational institutions:

  • University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI)
  • Holland College
  • Collège de l’Île

Focus on Healthcare, Trades, and Manufacturing

The province has reiterated that its selection process is currently driven by specific labour market shortages. The Office of Immigration is prioritizing skilled workers in high-demand sectors, specifically healthcare, trades, and manufacturing.

Conversely, the province noted that individuals working in the sales and service sector may not receive invitations at this time, as the province aligns its intake with federal allocations and immediate industrial needs.

This draw brings the total number of invitations issued by PEI in 2026 to 26.
