British Columbia has issued a new round of invitations under the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), focused on candidates working in the province’s priority sectors.
On May 6, 2026, the BC PNP invited 333 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through targeted draws under its Skills Immigration streams.
The invitations followed British Columbia’s “Care, Build, Innovate” framework, which restructured the program in April 2026 to direct nominations toward roles the province has identified as critical to its labour market and public services.
Of the 333 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued, 117 went to candidates in priority healthcare occupations under the Care: Health stream, which required a minimum registration score of 108. A further 9 invitations were issued to veterinarians (NOC 31103) and certified animal health technologists and veterinary technicians (NOC 32104) under the Care: Veterinary stream with a minimum score of 100.
The Care: Education stream invited 86 Early Childhood Educators (NOC 42202) with a minimum score of 115. The largest share — 121 invitations — went to candidates working in priority construction occupations, including workers with active apprenticeships registered with SkilledTradesBC, under the Build: Construction Trades stream with a minimum score of 108.
As of May 6, 2026, the BC PNP Skills Immigration registration pool held 9,967 candidates. Invited candidates must submit a complete application through BC PNP Online within 30 calendar days.
The BC PNP noted that invitations to apply are issued only to qualified registrations submitted before the date of the draw. Candidates can review earlier invitation rounds through the program’s official archives.
This draw reinforces British Columbia’s continued focus on directing nominations toward sectors facing the greatest workforce shortages — child care, healthcare, the skilled trades, and animal health services.
